#ONEDAY Critical Needs Alert is Aug. 4, 2026

The #ONEDAY Critical Needs Alert is a fundraising event sponsored by the Pittsburgh Foundation and The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County that galvanizes our community to support over 200 nonprofits in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties that serve vulnerable populations.

​

People are unable to meet their basic needs for many reasons, including limited access to resources and opportunities and low income that may not provide enough support. These challenges have consequences, for example: one-in-five Pittsburghers is food insecure, and shortages of affordable housing and child care contribute to housing and family instability. Nonprofits and service providers that support individuals and families are also experiencing challenges due to increasing costs, federal budget cuts and policy changes, restricting their ability to help those in need.

Knead Community Cafe has provided support for the food insecure in our local area, and with the help of our donors has provided over 73,000 meals to those in need. Please consider donating today and enable us to continue this important work for our community.
